Apple Picking Weekend
SUCH A GREAT SATURDAY! Daniel and I headed out to Oak Glen Saturday morning to pick some apples, cut a pumpkin off the vine and enjoy some yummy cider. We took our fur babies Winston & Harrod, too. I think I can speak for us all and say we had an awesome day. Had some yummy BBQ, met great people from LA and... can we talk about the Apple Cider Mini Doughnuts... HALF the reason why we come out here... they are SO GOOD! They aren't advertised you can get these at the Snow Line Apple Farm. & trust us when we say it is worth the wait. We got a dozen of the mini doughnuts with hot apple cider OH MY!!!
This is what Daniel and I did as a 'First Date' 3 years ago now. We loved it so much that we look forward to it every year. If you haven't been its a great close by outing for the family and little ones. You can pick apples, pumpkins, strawberries, raspberries and such. Our favorite farm is Rileys Farm. "Riley’s Farm is a working apple orchard and living history farm featuring pick-your-own fruit, living history education, dinner theatre, group banquet facilities and extended, historically-themed overnight stays."
I am not too sure how many apple farms there are but there are a ton to choose from. There is even a small town with shopping dinning, antiques, and a small petting zoo for the kiddos. Everywhere you go you are bound to see horses and a few other animals as seen in my photos below. Our favorite were the alpacas! They were so cute with their lopsided ears. The horses even let us come right up and pet them. SO friendly.
If you haven't been yet this season its NOT too late! Such a fun day for the family and not a far drive at all.
